One change of address leads to another

St. Martin Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Scott Champagne, 53, of St. Martinville Monday for failing to notify law enforcement authorities of his change of address.

SMSO conducted an investigation in reference to a non-compliant sex offender, which led to an arrest warrant being obtained for Champagne.

Breaux Bridge Man Arrested For Non-Compliance

Gerald Patt, 55, of Breaux Bridge, was arrested Friday by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force.

The arrest follows an investigation SMSO into an alleged non-compliant sex offender.

Final approval of a St. Martinville site for the new Evangeline Campus of South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) is still nearly two months away, according to SLCC spokesperson Christine Payton.

Thanks to the work of the St. Martinville Garden Club, Glenda Kately Sonnier, Parks and Recreation Director, and her staff and many local volunteers, St. Martinville placed first in the annual Cleanest City Contest for District 3.

Breaux Bridge police arrested 2 men for armed robbery

Breaux Bridge police arrested two men in connection to an armed robbery at a casino.

Police responded to 2247 Rees St. at the business of Silver's Casino.

Authorities say Samuel Gordon and Damion Morgan were taken into custody without incident on Thursday.

Both are charged with armed robbery.
