A few minutes after the great ever-so-famous world-wide Super Bowl football game was over, which I did not watch because I was wrapped up in a couple of very interesting shows on LPB, the unthinkable happened and electricity went out all around this area.

An old house worth saving

The St. Landry Preservationist Society recognized the importance of the two-centuries-old Prudhomme house in the 1970s, when the nonprofit group scraped up the wherewithal to acquire it. The old treasure is even more important today, but it’s in trouble.

Baja St. Martin

I received a very nice Christmas card from a cousin in Michigan with news of his kids, sisters, etc. My cousin is a retired lawyer and now raises Scottish Highland cattle. There was a picture of one of the cows on the card and it looks like a musk ox, with short legs, large horns and very shaggy hair.
