Winola Roy Guidroz

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Winola Roy Guidroz, 93, who passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015, and continued on Friday at 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. A Rosary was prayed at 6 p.m. on Thursday by Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert.
Rev. Donovan Labbe officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Roxanne Roy and gift bearers were Barbara Guidroz and Keith Whittington.
Entombment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Winola enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed. She was a Beautician most of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cormier; her son, Ronnie Guidroz and his wife Barbara; her nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and siz great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Lucien Roy; mother, Clara Fuselier; husband, Earl Joseph Guidroz; son-in-law, Ricky Cormier; six brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Kip Cormier, Kyle Cormier, John “DD” Guidroz, Kody Hebert, Lyle Guidry and Chase Guidroz.
Honorary pallbearers were her nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Warren Degatur and Wendy Fuselier, nurses and aides at St. Martin Hospital, her caregivers, Elaine Johnson and Jennifer Langlinais, and employees at St. Martin Nursing Home for their excellent care, compassion and kindness shown to our mother.
