Wilton ‘Zorro’ Thibodeaux

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Wilton “Zorro” Thibodeaux, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at St. Martin Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Rev. Ed Degeyter officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Marla Frederick and Murphy Guidry. Gift bearers were Melanie Evans and Misty Laviolette.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Wilton, better known as “Zorro” to his family and friends, honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was retired with J.B. Mouton Inc., where he worked as superintendent. Zorro was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, gardening, cutting grass. He loved cooking and visiting with his family and friends. Zorro loved meeting people and never once met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Thibodeaux and her companion Charles Olivier; his granddaughter, Kayla Nicole Thibodeaux; two sisters, Hazel Thibodeaux and Lulla Mae T. Lasseigne; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Frederick Thibodeaux; his parents, Alexie and Eunice Barras Thibodeaux; two brothers, Lloyd Thibodeaux and Marshall Paul Thibodeaux; and his sister, Emmaline T. Guidry.
Pallbearers were Charles Olivier, Clint Laviolette, Ethan Laviolette, Ricky “Ricko” Albert, Scott “JC” Boutte, Raymond Boutte and Michael Thibodeaux.
Honorary pallbearers were Chester Guidry, Murphy Guidry, Alfred Guidry, Preston “Tiger” Theriot, Brennen Billeaud, Popie Billeaud, Scott Garner and Bruce McFadder.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Angela Snow, Dr. Mike Mounir, Lafayette General Medical Center staff, St. Martin Hospital of Breaux Bridge staff, Chester Guidry, Raymond and Verna Boutte, and Preston “Tiger” Theriot, for the love and care given to Zorro.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
