Wilson Joseph Landry

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Wilson Joseph Landry, 89, who passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Dwayne Periou, Vince Bouchereau and Amanda Maynard. Gift bearers will be Amanda Bouchereau, Tennille Sonnier, Terri Hyatt and Angelia Verret.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Landry, known as the “glue” of his family, was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed raising cattle, sheep, and chickens. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing with his son and crawfishing in his crawfish ponds. He loved attending family gatherings, especially cherishing the moments spent with his brothers, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Huval Landry of Breaux Bridge; son, Jackie Landry and girlfriend Dana Huval of Breaux Bridge; daughters, Rita Seneca and husband Mickey of Breaux Bridge, Nancy Latiolais and husband Donald of Catahoula, and Billie Periou and husband Dennis of Arnaudville; brothers, Dalton Landry of St. Martinville, Wilbert Landry and wife Georgie of Lafayette, Albert Landry and wife Lynn of Cankton, Harry Lee Landry and wife Nell of Carencro, Nelson Landry and wife Maudé of Carencro, and Clayton Landry and wife Debra of Waverly, Va.; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Rose Noel Landry; brothers, Remy and Willis Landry; and his sister, Rita Landry.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Periou, Daniel Periou, Weston Periou, Murphy Latiolais, Travis Latiolais, Kyle Latiolais and Jessie Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Maynard, Billy LeBlanc Jr. and Nick Bouchereau.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, 211 Berard St., (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
