Willis J. Drake Jr.

St. Martinville – A Home-going Celebration will be held for Willis J. Drake, Jr. 60, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Greene Sr., officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of service.
A native and resident of St. Martinville, he passed at 2:25 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
He was baptized at an early age at Union Baptist Church. Willis was a hardworking and strong family man with a good heart.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his mother, Lizzie Voorhies Drake of St. Martinville, two brothers, Kenneth Drake and Kawaski Drake of St. Martinville, two sisters Delores Drake Menard and Darlene Drake of St. Martinville, two children, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who know Earth has no sorrow Heaven cannot heal.
He now joins in glory, his father, Willis J. Drake, Sr., two brothers, Nelson Drake and Allen Drake, three sisters, Mary Ann Drake, Evelyn Rose Drake, and Rose Marie Drake Roberts, maternal grandparents, Allen Voorhies, Sr. and Alberta Roberts Voorhies, paternal grandparents, Lawrence Drake, Sr. and Lillian Gardner.
Active pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be immediate family members.
