Toby James Bertrand

St. Martinville – A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Toby James Bertrand, 56, who passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Rev. Rusty Richard, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Kristen Domingue and Erika Littell. Gift Bearers will be Alex and Ahni Bertrand. Music will be provided by Patrick Melancon.
Toby enjoyed playing his guitar, watching old movies, and going fishing. He loved his ’55 Chevy Belaire and had a passion and love for animals. His most treasured times were those spent with his family and friends. Toby will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Lamar L. Bertrand of St. Martinville; his son, Dylan Bertrand and wife Tiffany of St. Martinville; two daughters, Dusti Bertrand and companion Shawn Bergeron of St. Martinville, and Dixie Gaspard and husband Eric of Youngsville; his mother, Patsy Lastrapes Bertrand of St. Martinville; three sisters, Debbie Landry and husband Alfred “Al” of St. Martinville, Elizabeth Bertrand of St. Martinville and Robin Neuville and husband Scott of Loreauville; his brother, Larry “Possum” Bertrand Jr. and wife Rachael of St. Martinville; and four granddaughters, Alex Bertrand, Ahni Bertrand, Andi Bertrand and Elle Bergeron, all of St. Martinville.
He is preceded in death by his father, Larry Bertrand Sr.; and his brother, Todd Bertrand.
Pallbearers will be Eric Gaspard, Alfred “Al” Landry, Scott Neuville, Tyler Bertrand, Larry “Possum” Bertrand Jr. and Patrick Colvin.
Honorary pallbearer will be Shawn Bergeron.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville, 112 New Market St., (337-394-9121) is in charge of arrangements.
