Thomas Katsoulis
Parks – A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Thomas Katsoulis, 69, who passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
Fr. Michael DeBlanc will officiate at the Funeral Service.
Mr. Katsoulis attended Northern Illinois University and graduated from Roosevelt University. During his younger years, he grew up in Naperville, Ill. He enjoyed skiing, boating, beach vacations and traveling. Mr. Katsoulis was an avid golfer and former member of Edgewood Valley Country Club. He was a lifelong entrepreneur and owned various companies throughout the years including, being the founder and former owner of Great Northern Wire and Cable, Jilly’s, and Bigg’s restaurant.
Later in his life, he relocated to reside in Naples, Fla. His personality was the most magnanimous you’d ever see, and he was known by many for his big heart and generous spirit. Every event that Mr. Katsoulis attended he was always the life of the party and everyone wanted to meet him.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Nelson; mother, Lena Huval Katsoulis; brother, Larry Katsoulis and wife Madge; daughter, Alexis Bilardello and husband John; sons, Andrew Katsoulis and wife Jennifer and Corey Katsoulis and wife Kate; grandchildren, Cami, Matthew, Oscar, Hendrix, Nick, Elodie and Tyler; and a friend to many.
A previous visitation and service was held on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State St., Chicago, IL 60610 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 2:30 p.m.
