Thomas ‘Tommy’ Wayne Thibodeaux

Parks – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Thibodeaux, 66, who passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015.
Visiting hours were observed from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday at 8 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Fr. Ed Degeyter officiated at the Funeral Mass and the con-celebrant was Fr. Donovan Labbé.
Scriptures were read by Don Davis, Karen Stelly and Sue Dupont. Gift Bearers were Shyla, Blake and Brock Thibodeaux.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Thibodeaux, 66, a lifelong resident of Parks, succumbed following a valiant battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his family.
Tommy was born December 19, 1948, to Roland J. Thibodeaux and Catherine Signorelli Thibodeaux. After his graduation from Breaux Bridge High School, Tommy worked with his father in the family business, R. J. Thibodeaux Shell and Limestone Yard. In 1976, he took over the business and has continued to successfully carry on the legacy that his father began.
Tommy has served as Past President of the Parks Jaycees, Past President and founding member of Pelba Hunting Club, member of Parks Knights of Columbus, member of Parks Volunteer Fire Department, member of St. Martin Parish Cattlemen’s Association, and is a current member of Coles Creek Hunting Club of Fayette, Mississippi, as well as an avid supporter of the St. Martin Parish 4-H program.
Tommy had a very kind heart and quick-wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Beth Davis Thibodeaux; sons, Thomas “Blaine” Thibodeaux and Trey Wayne Thibodeaux and wife Amber; daughters, Kimberly Thibodeaux, Madalyn Thibodeaux Broussard and husband B.J., Hannah Thibodeaux Devall and husband Justin, and Shyla Thibodeaux; daughter-in-law Tanya G. Thibodeaux; his grandchildren, Dylan, Blake, Brock, Tyler, Tucker and Alysa Thibodeaux. He is also survived by his mother, Catherine Signorelli Thibodeaux; his brother, Ronald Thibodeaux and wife Vicky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roland J. Thibodeaux; his brother, Richard Thibodeaux; his sister-in-law, Jerrie Beazley Thibodeaux; and his son, Trent Blake Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers were Trey Thibodeaux, Blaine Thibodeaux, BJ Broussard, Justin Devall, Mark Stelly, Daniel Dupont, Ken Guidry and Mike Doucet.
Honorary Pallbearers were Dylan, Blake, Brock, Tyler and Tucker Thibodeaux, John Dugas, Raymond Guidry, Dale Theriot, Sim Lasseigne and members of Coles Creek Hunting Club.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana and Dr. Brierre for the compassionate care given to Tommy during his time of need.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in memory of Thomas Thibodeaux to Hospice of Acadiana.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
