Theresa M. Russo

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Theresa M. Russo, 94, who passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
A wake service was held and rosary recited on Monday, led by Rev. Ed Degeyter.
Reverend Rusty P. Richard officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment followed at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Theresa “Aunt Tee” loved people and serving hot biscuits and coffee on Sunday mornings. She also loved baking Christmas cookies for all her friends and family. Aunt Tee was a faithful member of the St. Martin Parish Home Demonstration Club, Ladies Altar Society and AARP. She especially loved cleaning the church and traveling. Aunt Tee will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving sons, L. Benny Russo, Sr. and wife Janis, Charles V. Russo and wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Theresa Sanli and spouse Kemal, L. Benny Russo, Jr. and spouse Dr. Karren L. Russo, Patricia Russo, Victor Russo and spouse Marie, Elizabeth Hidalgo and spouse Shawn; great-grandchildren, Taylor Russo, Andrew Sanli, Jaymson Russo, Bethany, Mylie, Connor, Eli and Owen Hidalgo.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor Russo; parents, Charles and Marie Milazzo; sister, Sarah Russo Wallace; brothers, Joseph and Nick Milazzo.
Pallbearers were Shawn Hidalgo, Joseph and Salvadore Milazzo, Rene Olivier, Ben Russo, and Kemal Sanli.
The family would like to thank the staff of Landmark of Acadiana for their continued care and also Sadie Olivier for being such a wonderful and caring friend.
