Sidney Joseph Dupuy III

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Sidney Joseph Dupuy III, 81, who passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at his residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Father Garrett McIntyre officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Scripture readings were read by Renee Usie and Nolia Rohde. Gift bearers were Edmund and Corinne Dupuy.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Dr. Dupuy attended high school at St. Joseph Academy of Jackson, Miss. After high school, he attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, LSU in Baton Rouge and LSU Medical School in New Orleans.
In College he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He was drafted into the Army with six kids all under the age of 6. He completed his internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and his Residency in Psychiatry at Central Hospital in Pineville.
He enjoyed going to the Jam Sessions at Joié de Vivre and attended his last one hours before he died. He loved to play the Accordion. In his younger days, he enjoyed motor sports. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus in Jackson, Miss.
He was survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Caroline S. Dupuy; sons, Sidney Joseph Dupuy IV and his wife Bonny Costley Dupuy of Livingston, Texas, Edmund Dupuy and his wife Corinne LeBlanc Dupuy, and Jean Pierre Dupuy Sr. and his wife Michelle Berard Dupu, both of Breaux Bridge; daughters, Denise Dailey and her husband Robert Dailey of Houston, Texas, Andrea Castille and her husband Craig Castille and Renee Usie and her husband Mike Usie, both of Breaux Bridge; sister, Nolia Rohde and her husband Howard Rohde of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Bryan Conrad, Addelaide Cuneo, Gabriel Dailey, Camille Dailey, Logan Berard, Cameron Angelle, Wayne Usie, Ross Usie, Dawn Doiron, Lanie Dupuy, Sidney Dupuy V, Marc Dupuy, Lindsey Dupuy, Jean Pierre Dupuy Jr. and André F. Dupuy; great-grandchildren, Madeline McKnight, Silas Angelle, Marilou Angelle, Georgia Louise Berard, Isla Usie, Clark Usie, Francis Usie, Jacob Doiron, Allyse Doiron and soon to be Kennedy Dupuy.
He was preceded in death by mother, Edwina Langenbecker Dupuy; father, Sidney Joseph Dupuy Jr., and granddaughter, Danielle Caroline Dupuy.
Pallbearers were Wayne Usie, Ross Usie, Jean Pierre Dupuy, Jr., André Dupuy, Sidney Dupuy V and Jean Pierre Dupuy Sr.
Honorary pallbearers were Marc Dupuy, Edmund Dupuy, Craig Castille, Blake Berard, Noah Angelle, Mike Usie and Sidney Joseph Dupuy IV.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
