Roger ‘Dale’ Hebert

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Roger “Dale” Hebert, 64, who passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home, 211 Berard St., from 4:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017, and continue Friday, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Lecturers will be Donnie Latiolais and Maria Hanes. Gift Bearers will be Kelly Hebert, Norma Reed and Penni Vasseur. Entombment will follow at St Bernard Mausoleum #2 in Breaux Bridge.
Dale was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church where he attended weekly Mass. He was a member of the L’Embarras Hunting Club for the past 25 years. Prior to his disability, he worked for Sperry Sun as an MWD Supervisor for 13 years. He will always be remembered for his witty comments.
He enjoyed his daily walks to Lake Martin every morning, going on Nik-L-Beer cruises with the love of his life, family vacations, spending as much time as he could in the Basin, but most of all, spending as much time as he could with his family, especially his grandchildren – who were the love of his life. He found peace at the camp in the Basin and felt close to his best friend – who was like a brother to him – Al Latiolais.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Nona Latiolais Hebert; his sons, Galen Hebert and wife Heidi, and John “Keith” Hebert and his wife Kelly; his grandchildren (who were the joy and love of his life), Ethan, Elle, Sofia and Jackson Hebert; his granddog – Stella; his parents, Howard and Georgia Hebert; his brother, Karl Hebert and his companion Wendy Bienvenu; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald and Marlene Latiolais, Russell and Norma Reed and Danny and Glenda Guidry; his best friend, Peter Delahoussaye (Bobbie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Antoine and Eursule Latiolais, his brothers-in-law, Alden (Dago), Billy, Roy, Bobby and Al Latiolais; his sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Bourque and Shirley Robin (and her husband Wiley Robin)
Pallbearers will be Galen and Keith Hebert, Robert and Rawson Reed, Gary Latiolais and Karl Hebert.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Nursing Specialties Hospice – especially Aimee Wise, Ms. Christine and Vanessa, and Chaplain Paul Broussard. We can never, ever express our love and gratitude enough to Penni Vasseur – family, friend and nurse with Nursing Specialties, for all her love and support and the wonderful care she gave to him – she was his angel!
