Robert ‘Bob’ Foti

St. Martinville – A Memorial Mass was celebrated for Mr. Robert “Bob” Foti, 64, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at St. Martin De Tours Catholic Church. Fr. Rusty Richard was the celebrant.
Interment will be held privately at a later date.
The church opened for visitation at 10 a.m. until the service time. A Rosary was recited by Freddie Foti at 10:30 a.m.
Immediately following services, the family hosted a gathering at St. Martin De Tours Parish Hall.
A native and resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Foti passed away at 9 a.m. on Wednesday November 16, 2016, at his residence.
Born on August 12, 1952, to the late Ferdinand “Brother” Foti and the late Rena Boudreaux Foti, Robert was one of six children. Bob, as he was better known, was a fun loving man who enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, and cooking. He was well known for being a great cook and for his famous spaghetti recipe. Bob also had a great love for animals. He raised everything from chickens and cows to birds and turtles. Bob had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Diesel and Elsie.
Bob was the owner and operator of Bobarenas Flower Shop in St. Martinville for 35 years since its opening in 1978. He was very active in the community and belonged to many clubs and organizations throughout St. Martinville. These include the Saint Martinville Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club, the Florist Association, and the Saint Martinville Main Street Association. Bob was good brother and friend to all. He will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his brothers, Russel Foti and wife Cherie of Catahoula, and Ryan Victor Foti and wife Monique; sisters, Rose Delores Foti and Rhena F. Laperouse and husband Freddie Jr., all of St. Martinville; niece and nephews, Katy Foti Chapman, Reig Foti, Paul Smith, Rusty Foti, Hunter Foti, Bert Laperouse, Bryan Laperouse, Evan Eschete and Dominic Foti; grandnieces and nephews, Elliot Chapman, Ethan Chapman, Gabrielle Foti, Mia Foti, Adeline Laperouse, Julianna Laperouse, Amelia Grace Laperouse and Kaylee Skye Smith; and longtime forever friend, Annie Theriot.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand C. “Brother” and Rena Boudreaux Foti; brother, Reid Damian Foti; and grandparents, Charles and Rose Foti, and Junius and Delores Boudreaux.
The family would like to thank all of Bob’s caretakers and friends for their kindness and support.
At Bob’s request, his body will be donated to the Louisiana Bureau of Anatomical Services to future the advancement of medical research.
