Te-Fra enjoyed hunting, crawfishing, and fishing his cross-lines and nets in Butte LaRose. Commercial fishing was his passion; he didn’t see it as a job. He loved to cook his fish and the extras that he caught, he gave to his friends in exchange for produce. He was known to many as a neat person and was very good at building boats to such perfection and he loved working with Cypress wood and also made duck calls for everyone in the family.
Te-Fra was extremely witty ... always opening meetings at work with a joke. He enjoyed dancing and was very good at it. He loved sports, especially the Braves and he knew the stats for all sports.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Ann Hotard of Breaux Bridge; his son, Troy (Tricia) Hotard of Breaux Bridge; his daughters, Tina (Rocky) Porter of Mandeville and Laura (Dale) Artigue of Mandeville; his brother, Clarence Hotard Jr. of Butte La Rose; and his grandchildren, Ryan Porter of San Diego, Cal., Trevor Porter of Las Vegas, Nev., Brooke Artigue of Mandeville, Trené Hotard of Cecilia, Kristin Artigue of Mandeville, Lil’ Troy Hotard II of Cecilia, Carly Artigue of Mandeville and D.J. Artigue Jr. of Mandeville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Hotard Sr. and Goldie Stewart Hotard; and his sisters, Ruby Boudreaux, Ruth Delahoussaye and Marion Breaux.
Pallbearers were Troy Hotard, Troy Hotard II, Dale Artigue, Dale Artigue Jr., Ryan Porter and Trevor Porter.
