Rene Williams Jr.

Cecilia – Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Rene Williams Jr., 69, who passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Interment was in St. Rose of Lima cemetery. Rev. Neil Pettit, pastor of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, officiated at the services.
Rene Williams was born to the late Rene Sr. and Eunice Williams. Rene Jr. married Beulah Williams and although no children were produced from their union, Rene, aka “Jun,” did not hesitate to open his home to those in time of need. He was very fond of his extended family, especially his nieces, nephews and godchildren. He worked hard as a machine operator for the State of Louisiana until he grew ill and retired. He kept his promise to his wife, as he never required her to work and never raised a hand onto her. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his two sisters, Ella Mae Williams and Mary Celestine. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Beulah Gordon Williams; his parents, Rene Williams Sr. and Eunice Davis Williams; and three brothers, Roger Williams, Peter Williams and Buck Williams.
A rosary was prayed at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Visiting hours were observed from 9 a.m. Tuesday until service time on Tuesday.
