Peter Wilson BonHomme

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Peter Wilson BonHomme, 65, who passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Reverend Peters officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.
Peter, better known as Pete, was born to the late Howard Sr. and Lovinia Joseph BonHomme in St. Martinville on July 18, 1951. Pete was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and then went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He retired from the Office of Juvenile Justice as a Supervisor after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver and American Legion Post 69. Pete will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 38 years, Beverly Ames BonHomme; two sons, Andre Henry and wife Samantha of Dallas, Texas, and Kevin BonHomme of Carencro; one daughter, Kerri Broussard and husband Brandon Sr. of Cecilia; six brothers, Sidney, David, Randy, Michael, Russell and wife Rachel, and Gary BonHomme; four sisters, Linda Ledet, Leanna Anthony, Nancy BonHomme and Carolyn Mitchell and husband Rev. Eric; eight grandchildren, Brandon Jr., Brookes, Brinley Claire, and Brylee Broussard, Ozzy, Degan, Lela and Camdyn Henry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard BonHomme Sr.; mother, Lovinia Joseph BonHomme; brothers, Howard II, Lawrence Sr., Hollis and Bradley BonHomme; sister-in-laws, Charlotte BonHomme and Betty BonHomme; and brother-in-law, Jody Anthony.
Pallbearers were Hamilton Ledet, Jr., Kawaski Ledet, Terry Ledet, David BonHomme Jr., Howard BonHomme III and Deontae BonHomme.
Honorary pallbearers were Kevin BonHomme, Andre Henry, Brandon Broussard Sr., Sidney, David, Randy, Michael, Russell and Gary BonHomme.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
