Naurie Angelique Firmin

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Naurie Angelique Firmin, 21, who passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at her residence.
Visiting hours were observed from 2:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continued on Thursday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Dion Hall in Catahoula. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Richard Fabre officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Scriptures were read by Iris Peltier and Madison Firmin. Gift Bearers were Ana and Ava Theriot, Sophia and Ciera Peltier, and Gabrielle Broussard.
Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
She is survived by her father, Jude T. Firmin; mother, Sherry Buford Firmin; brothers, Micko Theriot and wife Nadine, Thomas Theriot and wife Betty, Jerry Theriot, Brendan Firmin, Travis Firmin and Paul Firmin; sisters, Iris Peltier and husband Scottie, Anna Broussard and Madison Firmin; her nieces and nephews, Sophia Peltier, Ciera Peltier, Harry Broussard, Jacque Broussard, Gabrielle Broussard, Ana Theriot, Ava Theriot, Maci Theriot, Thomas Theriot, Justin Gulley and Jacob Markantel; and her great nephew, Graham Chambers.
She is also survived by the very special people in her life: her nursing staff, Frankie Vicknair, Alisha Marshall, Christine Vicknair, Latricia Flugence and Emily Verret. Frankie and Alisha have been with her for nine and eight years and were loved like family. She so loved Evelyn Cole, her special school friend. Ms. Cole always made sure Naurie was accepted by her peers and participated in all school activities. She even helped Naurie participate on the Winterfest Court. Frankie, Alisha, and Ms. Cole were her other mothers and she so loved spending time with them and enjoying life. Naurie’s love was contagious and everyone who met her felt she was family.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Amilcar (Micko) and Hilda Latiolais Buford, and paternal grandparents, Hollis and Blanche Simoneaux Firmin.
Pallbearers were Micko Theriot, Thomas Theriot, Jerry Theriot, Brendan Firmin, Travis Firmin and Scottie Peltier.
Honorary pallbearers were Hollis Firmin, Frank Firmin , Mike Latiolais, Harry Broussard and Jacque Broussard.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
