Michael Hampton Champagne

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Michael Hampton Champagne, 65, who passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at AMG Specialty Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Fr. Michael Champagne officiated at the Funeral Service. Scriptures were read by Lori LaCombe and Brandon Alleman. Gift Bearers were Chantel Romero and Alexandra Alleman.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in Saint Martinville.
Michael was a native of and lifelong resident of St. Martinville. He retired with 40 years of service with the City of St. Martinville. He was a member of Woodman of the World and an Usher at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Michael enjoyed singing, dancing, going to the horse races, and watching football and wrestling. He loved spending time with his family, friends and will be sadly miss by all who loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Goldie Champagne; his brothers, Larry (Judy) Champagne of Lebanon, Mo., and Robert (Mary) Champagne of St. Martinville; his sister, Lisa (Robert) Laviolette of St. Martinville; and his cousin, Dallas Alleman of New Orleans.
He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Champagne; his parents, John and Lilly Roseberry Sr.; his brother, Alvin Champagne; and his sister, Donna Stockberger.
Pallbearers were Robert Champagne, Bryan “MaGoo” Hammon, Burt Champagne, Brandon Alleman, Martin Alleman and Robbie Laviolette.
