Michael ‘Mike’ Hebert

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Michael “Mike” Hebert, 71, who passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016.
Vvisiting hours were observed from 10 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016, and continued until 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Rev. Neil Pettit officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Bernard Mausoleum-No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mike enjoyed cooking and entertaining his family and friends – most of the time you would find him in his outdoor kitchen. Mike never met a stranger and he would talk to anyone he came across. He will be remembered as a “one-of-a-kind” and a “happy-go-lucky” person. Mike had a huge heart and loved to help people; he was the backbone of his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mike was a barber for most of his life and was owner and operator of “Signs by Mike.”
He is survived by his life partner of 39 years, Gereline “Geri” Frederick of Breaux Bridge; sons, Gregory Hebert Sr. and wife Rita of Breaux Bridge, Michael James Hebert II of Breaux Bridge, Kelly Hebert and wife Tracy of Breaux Bridge, and Danny Hebert and wife Terri of Montgomery, La.; daughters, Leslie Rebert and husband Oswald Sr. of Breaux Bridge, and Shannon “Michelle” Jean and husband Brent of The Woodlands, Texas; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Barbara Ann Oglesby of Breaux Bridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theobold “Bolo” and Aldus Hebert; brother, Donna Dieu “DeeDee” Hebert; and nephew, Karl Hebert.
Pallbearers were Greg, Mike, Danny, Kelly, Brent and Oswald.
Honorary pallbearers were Oswald Jr., Chaz, Mitchell, Gregory “Tee” Jr., Triston, Brylon, Colby, Kody, Merrill and his godchild, Myles.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
