Mary Jane ‘Mem’ Hebert Landry
Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mary Jane “Mem” Hebert Landry, 88, who passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016.
Visiting hours were observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Sunday. A prayer service will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Sunday evening by her grandson, Timothy Landry.
Fr. Stephen Ugwu officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Hydie Douglas and Eva Landry. Gift Bearers were Danny Guidry, Michelle “Mike” Hendricks, Hanna Pitre and Carlee Faulk.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Mem was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. For many years, Mem was a seamstress. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and listening to music. Mem was an excellent cook and baker, and she even made wine, though she wouldn’t drink it. Most of all she enjoyed being with the people she loved, her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Autrey and husband Mickey; son, Mark Anthony Landry and wife Eva; daughter-in-law, Leona Bourque Landry; grandchildren, Timothy John Landry and spouse Nina, Billie Jean Mahoney and spouse Mark, Kristy Autrey Faulk and spouse Jason, Jonathan Autrey and spouse Kristin, Lance Anthony Landry and spouse Kaci and Matthew Autrey and girlfriend, Katlyn Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; five step great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Eula Mae Landry and Marie Barras Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Shune” Landry; parents, John and Hyacinthe Hebert Sr.; son, Billy John Landry; brothers, Clayvon Hebert and John Hebert Jr.; and sisters, Nita Robinson, Rose Guidry and Theresa Moran.
Pallbearers were Mark Anthony Landry, Timothy John Landry, Lance Anthony Landry, Lowell Guidry, Mickey Autrey and Hunter Douglas.
Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Autrey, Matthew Autrey, Mark Mahoney, LaHood LaHood and Rene “Frere” Hebert.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
