Lula Belle Laneaux

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Lula Belle Laneaux, 80, who passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Amelia Manor Nursing Home.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday by Ann Escoyne.
Fr. David Broussard officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Ann Escoyne. Gift Bearers were Charmaine Guidry and Rachel Quebedeaux.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Lou was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a member of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She loved praying the rosary, as well as making them for family and friends. Lou could always be found at church attending her daily Mass and was known to be a prayer worrier; if you needed prayers, she would graciously pray a rosary for you. Lou will fondly be remembered as a lady who was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She is survived by her daughter, Deidra “Dee” Huval of Breaux Bridge; sons, Wayne P. Laneaux and wife Christine, and Troy J. Laneaux and wife Angela, all of Breaux Bridge; her sister, Judy Duhon and husband Larry of Carencro; her grandchildren, Jodie Dautreuil, Kayla Fournet, Shannon Fournet, Sara Fournet, Brandon Laneaux, Ryan Laneaux, Shawn Laneaux, and Dodie Laneaux; seven step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Sidney Laneaux; her parents, Leo and Euclcia Bergeron Prejean; a granddaughter, Ashley Renée Fournet; and her son-in-law, Thomas Edward Huval.
Pallbearers were Troy, Wayne, Ryan, Shawn and Brandon Laneaux, and Luke Castille.
Honorary pallbearers were Paul Allen Landry and Larry Duhon.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
