Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Mass was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel for Lucia Landry, 99, who passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
A rosary was prayed at 1 p.m. on Thursday by Lou Theriot.
Fr. Bryce Sibley officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Lucia enjoyed talking on the phone, reading her weekly paper, The Teche News, and attending Mass every weekend. She enjoyed her stay at the nursing home, where she was a resident for the past 10 years. She also loved having her family and friends visit her at her home.
She is survived by nine nieces and four nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eloi and Ava Marie Barras Landry; her brothers, Arthur E. Landry and Aristile Landry; her sisters, Emme Belaire, Edna Huval and Helen Champagne; and two nieces and six nephews.
Pallbearers were Nolan, Whitney and Nolis Champagne, Lloyd Touchet, Roy Landry and Earles Belaire.
The family would like to thank Drs. Warren and Ben Degatur, Wendy Fuselier, Ricky Hayes and the staff at St. Agnes Nursing Home, especially the nurses and aids on Hall C, St. Martin Hospital, and Hospice of Acadiana, for the care and attention given to her over the years.
