Kaleel J. ‘Pop’ Demouchet

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Kaleel J. “Pop” Demouchet, 21, who passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 7:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary was prayed at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Rev. Joe Campion officiated at the Mass. Interment followed at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Kaleel worked for St. Agnes Nursing Home. As a pastime, he enjoyed drawing, playing video games, talking on the phone, watching TV, and playing football and basketball.
He is survived by his father, Dalton William Alexander of Breaux Bridge; his brother, Kenan Demouchet of Breaux Bridge; his sister, Kaleena Demouchet of Breaux Bridge; maternal grandparents, Eva and Jim Demouchet of Breaux Bridge; aunts, Betty Alexander, Florence Alexander, Anissa Demouchet and Leslie Wiltz; uncles, Albert James Alexander and James Lewis (Heneritta Lewis); great-aunts, Ruby Narcisse, Francis Alexander, Anna Bell Alexander, Dorothy Barber, Virgie Lewis, Rita Celestine and Ganelle Breaux; great-uncles, Carol and Donald Barber, Harold, Melvin and Booker T. Celestine; children, Kayla Charles, Kaja Blair and Eva Taylor; best friends, Adam Williams and Trevor Charles; and special aunt and uncle, Elizabeth Alexander and Allen Paul.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Wanzett Lynette Demouchet; grandparents, Mary Edith and William Alexander; great-grandparents, Anna Lou and Paul Barber; Lucille and Victor Alexander; aunts, Florence Williams and Leona Celestine; uncles, Melvin, Leroy, Harold and Peter Barber, and Leroy, Ronald and Tyrone Celestine.
Pallbearers were Alonzo Demouchet, Ernest Johnson, Johnny Guidry, Andrew Gober, Dwayne Barber and Trevor Charles.
Honorary pallbearers were Albert Alexander, James Lewis, Harold Celestine, James Demouchet, Melvin Celestine, Kenan Demouchet and Logan Guidry.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
