Jules Ludger Bourque

Broussard – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Jules Ludger Bourque, 73, was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Ruskoski officiating. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation was held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11 a.m.
A native of Lafayette and a resident of Cade, Mr. Bourque died at 6:43 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Lafayette General Medical Center. He served as a trooper for the Louisiana State Police for 20 years, then worked as office manager at L. P. Bourque’s Paint and Body Shop for more than 17 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Guidry Bourque of Cade; a son, Todd J. Bourque and his partner Ronlyn A. Domingue of Baton Rouge; and two sisters, Harriet Mills and her husband Ernie Mills of Sugar Land, Texas, and Catherine B. Tauzin of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow M. and Henrietta Peltier Bourque; and a brother-in-law, Wilfred Tauzin.
Serving as pallbearers were Ernest Busby, Terry Guidry, Ernie Mills, Paul Myers, Tommy Reeves and Noile Sellers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Humane Society of the United States, www.humanesociety.org.
David Funeral Home of Lafayette handled the arrangements.
