Joyce Mae Douet Theriot

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Joyce Mae Douet Theriot, 75, who passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday. A rosary wase prayed at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
Rev. Rusty P. Richard officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Judy Douet and Reece Theriot. Gift Bearers were Joshua Theriot, Luke Theriot, Alyssa Theriot and Tristan Theriot.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in Saint Martinville.
Joyce enjoyed cooking, sewing, and loved being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Nolan P. Theriot Sr. of St. Martinville; her sons, Nolan P. (Sandy) Theriot Jr., Lorne (Belinda) Theriot, Kevin (Janet) Theriot, Neil (Krystal) Theriot and Jody (Anne) Theriot, all of St. Martinville; her sisters, Rose Douet of New Iberia, Judy Douet of St. Martinville and Janet (Kenneth) Berard of Loreauville; her aunt, Hazel Gregory of Broussard; her 13 grandchildren, Kipp Theriot, Jill Theriot, Jake Theriot, Lance Theriot, Reece Theriot, Arrie Theriot, Danielle Theriot, Neil D. Theriot Jr., Luke Theriot, Alyssa Theriot, Sarah Theriot, Tristan Theriot and Joshua Theriot; five great-grandchildren, Ava Theriot, Briggs Theriot, Riley Theriot, Hayden Theriot and Ridge Hebert; and her three godchildren, Angel Marceaux, Kent Berard and Timmi Berard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arville and Theresa Morvant Douet.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Laura Schiesser, her sisters, Judy and Janet, and her daughter-in-law, Sandy, for the compassionate care and attention given to her during her time of need.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
