Joseph D. Jeansonne

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, Jan. 23, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Joseph Darius “Kite” Jeansonne, 89, who passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Jeansonne was a veteran of World War II, honorably serving his country in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Josie Ann Theriot Jeansonne; two sons, Joseph D. Jeansonne Sr. of New Iberia and John
D. Jeansonne of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Mrs. Leland (Sue) Guidry Sr. and Mrs. Rodney (Louella) Simon Sr., all of Lafayette; two brothers, Lin Berard of Breaux Bridge and Charles Berard of Dahzell, S.C.; his sister, Gloria Stoute of Breaux Bridge; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Berard, and Patrick, Percy, Davis, Fred, Harry, Maurice, Andrew and Jimmy Castille; and sisters, Shirley Barras, Emily Breaux and Velma Breaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
