Joseph ‘Heavy’ Washington

Joseph H. Washington was born on December 14, 1962, to the proud parents of Horace and Arlene Washington from Louisiana. He moved to Houston in 1967.
He attended Bastian Elementary, Attucks Middle and Jesse H. Jones. He was a devoted father, son and brother. Joseph had a passion for working on cars, cooking and enjoying life.
He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Derrick Henderson (Cheryl); two daughters Madison Washington (Kim) and Kerrie Mallery; his father, Horace H. Washington; mother, Arlene M. Washington; brother, Julian Washington; sister, Karlene Collins (BiII); nieces, O’real Washington and Anyah Collins; nephews, Kavon Collins and JaVontae Collins; great-nieces, L’Oreal Dillard and Alyssia Dillard; grandchildren, Da’Ryah and De’Naja Henderson, Jean’e Mallery, Bobby Harris Jr. and Christian Harris; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace Washington Sr., Anna Leblanc Washington and Elizabeth Politte; two aunts, Rita Martin and Theresa Washington; and stepmother, Linda Washington.
