Jason A. Melancon

Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the funeral service. Reading the scriptures for service was Geri Kay Frederick.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery # 2 in Breaux Bridge.
He enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the American Legion of Parks. Jason was also a cane farmer and a board member of the Breaux Bridge Sugar Co-op.
He is survived by his son, Jason P. Melancon; his daughters, Cathleen M. Hebert and her husband Timothy and Sheralyne Melancon, all of St. Martinville; his sister, Linda M. Champagne and her husband Howard of St. Martinville; his brother, Darrell Melancon of St. Martinville; his daughter-in law, Carleen Melancon of Breaux Bridge; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lelia Melancon; his father, Louis P. Melancon; his sons, Michael Lynn Melancon and Frank H. Melancon; his sister, Mary Lou LeBlanc; his brothers, Louis J. Melancon, James Melancon, Carroll Melancon and Linsey P. Melancon Sr.
Pallbearers were Howard Champagne, Dwayne Champagne, Jason P. Melancon, Tommy Melancon, Teddy Thibodeaux and Scott Hebert.
Honorary pallbearers were Randy LeBlanc and Linsey P. Melancon.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
