Janet Thibodeaux Menard

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Janet Thibodeaux Menard, 83, who passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at St. Martin Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday at 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Fr. Garrett McIntyre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Jeannine Menard and Katie Courville. Gift bearers were Emily, Colleen and Victoria.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Janet was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, who loved her family unconditionally. She looked forward to watching her favorite soap opera, “The Young & the Restless” every day. As a pastime, she enjoyed going to the horse races, camping with her family, and Sunday afternoon car rides. Janet especially loved family night with Coors Lite and her 45’s.
She is survived by her sons, Alton “A.J.” Menard Jr. and wife Jeannine, and Brad Menard and wife Kaisha, all of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, Rebecca Menard of Breaux Bridge, Debbie Champagne and husband Steven of Parks, and Judy Courville and husband Steven of Breaux Bridge; her sisters, Paula T. Leon and Marilyn T. Guidry; her brothers, Kenneth “Keno” Thibodeaux and wife Marel, Mike Thibodeaux and Keith Thibodeaux, all of Breaux Bridge; nine grandchildren, Kaine, Christopher, Ross, Aaron, Mark, Katie, Colleen, Emily, and Victoria; and five great-grandchildren, Owen, Ky, Jackson, Camryn and Cole.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alton “Ky” J. Menard Sr.; her parents, Dalton Thibodeaux Sr. and Sadie Boudreaux Thibodeaux; and her brother, Dalton “Ponoon” Thibodeaux Jr.
Pallbearers were Kaine Champagne, Christopher Courville, Aaron Menard, Ross Robichaux, Owen Melancon and Shane Leon.
Janet’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff and doctors of St. Martin Hospital, and most especially to her caregivers, Tute, Linda, and Robyn – “We could not have made it without our angels.”
