James Roderick Touchet

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for James Roderick Touchet, 76, who passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Scriptures will be read by Shawn Gautreaux and April Touchet. Gift Bearers will be Theresa Breaux, Leagan Breaux, Kalee Breaux, and Taylan Vining.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Touchet enjoyed farming, driving his Kabota tractor, and bailing hay with his son. He cherished moments spent with his family, most especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Poirier Touchet of Breaux Bridge; his son, Roderick Touchet, Sr. and wife, Vereska; his daughter, Lila Touchet; his brother, George Gerald Touchet and wife, Luz; his sister, Bernice Gautreaux, all of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Chad Breaux, Theresa Breaux and fiancé, Brody Melancon, Roderick Touchet, Jr. and wife, April, and Joshua Touchet; and six great grandchildren, Leagan Breaux, Taylan Vining, Kalee Breaux, Sydney Breaux, Jacob Breaux, and Bryn Touchet.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Clarence Touchet and Bernice Champagne Touchet; and two brothers-in-law, Leonard Gautreaux, Jr. and Wilfred Poirier.
Pallbearers will be Roderick Touchet, Sr., Roderick Touchet, Jr., Joshua Touchet, Gerald “T.J.” Poirier, Chad Breaux, and Brody Melancon.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Gerald Touchet, Shawn Gautreaux and Jacob Breaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
