Inez Mary Girouard Neveu

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Inez Mary Girouard Neveu, 94, who passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski will officiate at the Mass. Readers will be Francene LeBlanc Gary and Joyrance Cormier. Gift Bearers will be Kaylei Brown, Sage Batiste, and Carter Chevalier.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mrs. Neveu enjoyed cooking, playing cards and taking care of others. Her most memorial moments were spending time with family and friends, especially her grandsons. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Earney Neveu of Breaux Bridge and Tyrone Neveu of Arlington, Texas; daughters, Lois Ledet and husband Otis of St. Martinville, Jeanette Wyatt and husband Rufus of Dallas, Texas, Serhania Mitchell and husband Norman of Broussard, Anita Chevalier and husband Edward of Cecilia, Catherine Berard and husband Shederick of Parks, and Barbara Neveu and companion Melvin Cole of St. Martinville; one brother, Fred Girouard and wife Clara of Lafayette; one sister, Theresa Harding of California; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Flavien Neveu; parents, Anita Bossett Girouard and Peter Girouard; two infant daughters, Sybil and Elaine Neveu; son, Carl Phillip Neveu Sr.; sisters, Irene Cox, Natalie Girouard, Bertina Auguillard, Jenny Landry, Levia Gotch and Belva Martel; brothers, Anthony Girouard, Harvey Girouard and Iroy Girouard; grandson, Carl Phillip Neveu Jr.; great-grandson, Braylon Batiste; and brother-in-law, Melvin Neveu Sr.
Pallbearers will be close friends and family members.
Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Ledet, Norman Mitchell, Shederick Berard, Edward Chevalier Sr., Rufus Wyatt, Melvin Cole, Phillip Demouchet, Melvin Neveu Jr., Gregory Neveu, Glenn Neveu, Leo Suane Jr., Brandon Olivier and Victor Suane.
