Hazel Eastin Delahoussaye

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Hazel Eastin Delahoussaye, 95, who passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at her residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
A rosary was prayed at 10 a.m. on Monday.
Rev. Rusty Richard officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Hazel received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Louisiana State University and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught at St. Martinville Junior High School for several years before becoming the Director of the St. Martin Parish Bilingual Education Program in 1970. Hazel enjoyed travel and was a member of the Development of French in Louisiana, and the Lioness Club.
She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Harry Delahoussaye, and Richard and Janis A. delaHoussaye; and her grandchildren, Taylor E. delaHoussaye and Alexander H. delaHoussaye.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Delahoussaye Sr.; her parents, Richard and Clara Barras Eastin; four brothers; and one sister.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
