Harry Lee Thomas

Franklin – Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home, 1101 Main Street, Franklin, for Harry Lee Thomas, 68, a resident of St. Martinville and a native of Shady Side, La., who passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 5:30 a.m. at his residence in St. Martinville.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. Bishop Alvin Davis will officiate at the services.
Interment with Military Honors will follow funeral services in the Nazarene Cemetery in Vedrunville, La.
Harry was a veteran of the United States Army receiving an Honorable Discharge.
Memories of Harry will forever be remembered and cherished in the hearts of his beloved wife, Nancy Marie Thomas of St. Martinville; two daughters, Isabella White (fiancé Anthony Lang) of St. Martinville and Jessie Mae Sandolph of Boutte, La.; a niece he helped to raise, Jessica D. Johnson (Allen) of St. Joseph, La.; four brothers, Wayne Thomas (Joyce) of Verdunville, La., Ricky Thomas (Debra) of Centerville, La., Ron Hawkins (Sarah) of Wichita, Kan., and John Hawkins of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Faye Coleman and Greta Francis both of Baldwin, La., and Karen Gier of Bayou Vista, La.; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Tillman and Katherine Gibbs both of Baldwin, La., Lillian Smith-Sneed of Four Corners, La., and Rosetta Lynn Tillman; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry “Kotchie Boy” Thomas Sr. and Jessie Mae Lee Thomas; six brothers, Carl Ray Hawkins Sr., Timothy Hawkins, Gerry Thomas, Henry Thomas Jr., Lester Thomas and Sherman Thomas; two sisters, Cindy Lou Thomas and Jean Thomas Darby; a nephew he helped to raise, Lt. Henry Lee Darby Jr.; his father and mother-in-law, Dallas Sr. and Maggie Tillman; and one brother-in-law, Dallas Tillman Jr.
