Gerrill Dean was the owner of Photography Plus and was retired from Process Printers, where she worked as a graphic arts designer. She was a former member of the M.P.S. Society. As a pastime she enjoyed photography, writing, listening to music and singing. She loved entertaining family and friends and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was the cornerstone of the Bernard family and the absolute rock foundation of her own. She embraced life and inspired many. We are all humbled by the strength and resolve she demonstrated in her life challenge.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Dutile of Broussard; her former spouse, Donald “Donnie” Dutile Jr.; three brothers, Percy Bernard and wife Jean, of Broussard, Lonnie Bernard and wife Lisa, of Catahoula, and Keith Bernard of St. Martinville; three sisters, Cynthia Champagne and husband Merlin of St. Martinville, Cheryl Myers and husband Melvin of Houston, Texas, and Linda Dugas and husband Lynn of Loreauville; her granddaughter, Micah Jade Mahon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Percy Bernard Sr. and Cecile Henry Bernard; and her twin sons, Blake and Lance Dutile.
Thanks to loving family and devoted friends, Miles Perret, Lydia Cancer Association, Heart of Hospice, Community Home Health for their help and support and everyone who dedicated their time and effort to her care.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
