Gerald Joseph Talley

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted for Mr. Gerald Joseph Talley, 78, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with Fr. Rusty Richard officiating.
Interment followed at Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Visitation was held from 12 Noon until 10 p.m. on Friday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home reopened at 8 a.m. on Saturday until service time.
A native and resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Talley passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his residence.
Gerald worked as a meat specialist all of his life. He loved to cook for his family. He worked for Southwest Super Market as a meat specialist, and also worked for Winn Dixie and Piggly Wiggly for a number of years and helped open several other large stores.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joann Mouton Talley of St. Martinville; one daughter, Paula Talley Arceneaux of Patterson; two step sons, Martin Bolding of St. Martinville and Benson Bolding of Lubbock, Texas; one granddaughter, Jessica Hutton of Patterson; and three great-grandchildren, Trey Seneca, Kade Seneca and Jena Sonnier.
Gerald is also survived by his four sisters, Pat Broussard and husband Erney, and Diane Dugan and husband Erney, all of St. Martinville, and Vickey Jernigan and Tony Mora of Charenton, and Jackie Broussard and husband Kirk of Parks; two brothers, Ted Talley and wife MaDonna of Parks and David Talley and wife Brenda of St. Martinville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clovis Talley; mother, Laura Thibodeaux Talley; one brother, Louis Talley; one sister, Mary Joan Courville; and three step sons, Alvin Walker, Keith McCormick and Tim McCormick.
Pallbearers were Johnny Broussard, Jason Picard, Ted Talley, Rickey Romero, Logan LaBiche and Matthew Delcambre.
Ty Melancon, Kayden Bulliard, Chris McCormick, Lucah Broussard, Trey Seneca and Kade Seneca served as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Johnny and Tina Broussard and Phil with St. Joseph Hospice for all of their special care.
