Gerald James Broussard

Breaux Bridge – A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Gerald James Broussard, 66, who passed away on March 20, 2016, at his residence. Following the mass, his burial will be at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
After 30 years in the oilfield, Gerald owned and operated his own business, where he was able to travel and see the beautiful Gulf Coast. He enjoyed trail rides in his youth and also had impressive gardening skills right up until the end. He was truly a jack of all trades, and he was passionate in all that he did. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time hunting and fishing with the guys in his hunting club, Warpath.
If you were to ask Gerald what his greatest accomplishments were, he would say his family; marrying his wife Peggy, having his children Jamie and Jeremy, and watching his grandchildren Gage, Paige and Chance grow up. He also had a special light in his eyes for his grand fur-babies Molly and Peanut, and he very much looked forward to their visits.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Boudreaux Broussard; his daughter, Jamie Broussard; three grandchildren, Gage Broussard, Paige Broussard and Chance Barbier; his son, Jeremy Broussard and wife Heather; his brothers, Albert Broussard and wife Niki, and Shirley Paul Broussard and wife Maria; his sister-in-law, Nancy Broussard; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dorsey Broussard Sr; his mother, Annie Broussard; and his brother, Dorsey Broussard Jr.
The family would like to especially thank his caregivers, Shannon and Jackie Latiolais, Dr. Warren Degatur, Dr. Ben Degatur, FMC Dialysis Center, and Hospice for all of their help and dedication.
