Genevieve L. LeBlanc
Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Genevieve L. LeBlanc, 90, who passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, in Lafayette.
Visiting hours were observed from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Rev. Ed Degeyter officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Rita Huval. Gift Bearers were Barbara and Lori LeBlanc.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. LeBlanc was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She loved attending Mass, praying the Rosary, and offering prayers of special intentions for those in need. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved cooking for her family. As a pastime she enjoyed playing Solitaire, shopping, and traveling with her beloved husband of 68 years, Aurelien.
She is survived by her sons, Ernie LeBlanc, Percy LeBlanc and wife Debi, Larry LeBlanc and wife Monique, Kenneth LeBlanc and wife Debbie, and Jody LeBlanc and wife Millie; her daughters, Linda Cyganiewicz and husband Henry, Barbara LeBlanc, Debra LeBlanc and Lori LeBlanc; her brothers, Donald Latiolais and wife Hazel, and Ronald Latiolais and wife Yvonne; her sister, Verna Wiltz and husband Felix (Pete); her grandchildren, Monique Hjalmquist and husband Eric, Todd Courville, Kyle LeBlanc and wife Katina, Kolette LeBlanc, Genevieve “Eve” Rouse, and Taylor LeBlanc; her step-grandchildren, Robin Farish, Kim Floyd, Rusty Ryder and Tommy Hebert; and her great-grandchildren, Brittany Hjalmquist, Caroline Hjalmquist and Luke McDowell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Aurelien LeBlanc Jr.; her parents, Leonard Latiolais Jr. and Angelle Thibodeaux Latiolais; her brother, Ulysses Latiolais; and her sisters, Madeline Brasseaux, Yvette Latiolais and an infant sister.
Pallbearers were Ernie LeBlanc, Percy LeBlanc, Larry LeBlanc, Kenneth LeBlanc, Jody LeBlanc and Taylor LeBlanc.
Honorary pallbearers were Todd Courville, Kyle LeBlanc, Henry Cyganiewicz, Eric Hjalmquist and Jimmy Lavergne.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
