Broussard – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Florence J. Lee, 84, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Arockian Arockiam, SVD officiating.
She will await the resurrection at St. Martin de Tours mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a rosary recited at 9:30 a.m.
A native and resident of St. Martinville, she passed at 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at her residence.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Golden Rule Benevolent Association, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Court #54 KPC.
She leaves to cherish her memory and in God’s care, three sons, Lemel Lee Jr. (Linda), Henry Paul Lee and Joseph Lee, all of Cade; three daughters, Rita Lee Lewis (Alfred) of Cade, Karen Bias (Conrad) of New Orleans, and Theresa Lee Cormier (Edward) of Lafayette; four sisters-in-law, Elvena Berard, Theresa Jones of Cade, Irene Lee of Olympia, Ill., and Barbara Jones of Lafayette; two brothers, Willis Jones of Cade and Roy Jones (Marion) of Lafayette; three sisters, Hazel Allen of Cade, and Laura Green (Milteon) and Mary Allen (Forest), both of New Iberia; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She now joins in glory with her husband, Lemel Lee Sr.; parents, Zoway Flugence Jones and Herman Jones Sr.; brothers, Herman Jones,Jr., Clarence Jones, Edward Jones, Rymond Jones, Laurence Jones, Douglas Jones, Albert Jones, Louis Jones and Herbert Jones; and one sister, Geneva Decuir.
Active pallbearers will be Lemel Lee III, Cedrick Jones, Linton Jones, Kenneth Jones, Brian Jones and Reggie Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Corad Bias, Edward Cormier, Alfred Louis, Donald Mitchell, Willis Jones and Roy Jones.
