Dr. Lon J. Latiolais, DDS

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Dr. Lon J. Latiolais, DDS, 45, who passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday and continued on Thursday at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Rusty Richard officiated at the Funeral Mass. Entombment followed at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Lon was a graduate of McNeese State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, and went on to pursue his MBA in Business Administration. He was the C.E.O. and owner of Global Direct, a marketing company; Vylon, a design and marketing company (where he held four patents on medical devices); and was the owner of his General Dentistry practice in Broussard.
Lon was an excellent athlete who participated in many Triathlons and was a member of Red Lerille’s Triathlon Team and Precision Bike Team.
Lon loved traveling around the world. He always had a smile on his face and was a very generous and giving person – always willing to help anyone or any organization in need. Over the years, Lon provided Missionary services in Africa and also spent time at Ft. Defiance in Arizona, providing dental services for the Navajo Tribe.
Lon gave selflessly of himself throughout his life and he wished to continue to do so by being on organ donor through LOPA. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to LOPA, 4441 N I-10 Service Rd W #100, Metairie, LA 70006.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Raymond J. and Pearl Trahan Latiolais; his sister, Tiffanie Latiolais; three nieces, Breighlin Hebert, Brittani Hebert and Brooklyn Latiolais; his girlfriend, Amanda Cormier; his paternal grandmother, Theresa M. Latiolais; his godmother, Glenda Neuville; and his aunt, Nancy Huval, who was like a sister to him.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Patrick Latiolais; and maternal grandparents, Wilbert and Emma Trahan.
Pallbearers were Clayton Latiolais, Cole LeBlanc, Brett LeBlanc, Toby Breaux, Travis Latiolais, Dr. Daniel Wiltz and Mark Segura.
Honorary pallbearers were Breighlin Hebert, Brittani Hebert and Brooklyn Latiolais.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
