Curry James Albert

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian burial was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Curry James Albert, 61, who passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015, in Lafayette.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Rev. Rusty Richard officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Con-celebrant was Pastor Joseph Padinjarepeedika, CMI.
Interment followed at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes.
Curry was a member of the Board of Directors La. Sugar Cane Co-op, Board of Directors of St. Martin Farm Bureau, St. Martin Parish Soil and Water Conservation District, St. Martin Parish Sugar Cane Advisory Committee, Past Chairman of FSA County Committee, Officer and member of the Parks Jaycees for many years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, attending agriculture related activities, hunting, traveling, attending conventions, reading to his grandchildren, going to the movies, cooking, looking at farm equipment while observing any crops and taking naps in his truck on the headland with or without his grandson.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 33 years, Vickie LeBlanc Albert; sons, Ryan David Albert and wife Chantal of St. Martinville, Derek James Albert and girlfriend Desire of Scott, and Jacob Lloyd Albert of St. Martinville; daughter, Megan Louise Albert of St. Martinville; grandson, Luke David Albert of St. Martinville; granddaughter, Jolie Ann Ferris of Scott; honorary granddaughter, Braelyn Gates of Cecilia; mother, Melba Albert of Coteau Holmes; sisters, Joan Cormier and husband Edward of Henderson, Terry Hebert and husband Raymond of Loreauville, Glenda LeBlanc and husband Jacques Sr. of Lafayette and Jennifer Ebarb and husband Kevin of Catahoula; and mother-in-law, Eula LeBlanc of Coteau Holmes.
He was preceded in death by father, Russell Albert; father-in-law, Lloyd LeBlanc and brother-in-law, David LeBlanc.
Pallbearers were Ryan David Albert, Jacob Lloyd Albert, Brandon Hebert, Errol Albert, Steve Fuselier Jr. and Paul Courville.
Honorary pallbearers were Derek James Albert, Steve Fuselier Sr., Elliott Cormier, Hobson Champagne and Bobby Dugas.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
