Christopher Keith Calais

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for Christopher Keith Calais, 22, who passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
Visiting hours were observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday by his family.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Ashley Steele and Carli Calais. Gift Bearers were Ariel and Amber Calais and Kailey Theriot.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson.
Christopher was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the camp, riding four wheelers and hanging out with his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend, Kailey Theriot. He will be remembered for his contagious smile, big heart and the joy he gave everyone.
He is survived by his parents, David Keith Calais and Rachel Allemond Calais of Henderson; his brothers, Cort Calais and Cameron Calais of Henderson; his sisters, Ariel Calais and Amber Calais of Henderson; his half-brother, Kyle Taylor of Breaux Bridge; his paternal grandfather, Robert Calais of Cecilia; maternal grandparents, Geraldine and Curtis Allemond of Henderson; his godchild, Carson Calais of Breaux Bridge; his nephew, Devin Taylor of Cecilia; his niece, Dianna Taylor of Cecilia; his aunts, Vonda Hayes of Henderson, Penny Calais of Cecilia, Sasha Calais (Chad) of Cecilia, Kelli Calais (Rob) of Cecilia, Hope Calais (Ronnie) of Cecilia and Peggy Allemond (David) of Henderson; uncles, Mark Allemond, David Allemond, Phillip Allemond and Todd Hayes, all of Henderson, and Rob “T-Boy” Calais, Chad Calais and Ronnie Calais, all of Cecilia; his godfather, Louis Landry of Cecilia; and his godmother, Ashley Hayes Steele of Cecilia.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Loretta Calais.
Pallbearers were Cort Calais, Cameron Calais, Brannon Latiolais, Jade Denais, Jordan Ryder and Daniel Dillard.
Honorary pallbearer was Traey Allemond.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia, was in charge of arrangements.
