Charlotte Marie Doucet

Catahoula – Memorial Services celebrating the life of Charlotte Marie Doucet will be held Saturday, September 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church. Charlotte passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette at the age of 62.
Charlotte was a native of the St. Martinville and Catahoula areas. Born June 29, 1954, she was the daughter of Harrison Doucet Sr. (deceased) and Betty Melancon Doucet.
Charlotte has a big heart and loved helping people. She always saw the positive in everyone. She had a true love for animals, her dogs were near and dear to her as well as stray animals that she would take in. Charlotte enjoyed time with family. Spending time with her sister fishing was always a joy to her. Attending events for her nieces and nephews was always a priority. Being present at her great nephew Mica’ (lil man) events always brought a smile to her face. She enjoyed baking and cooking. Her pralines will never be forgotten. Charlotte was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and believe there was nothing better than a good football game.
Charlotte leaves lasting impressions on the hearts of her mother Betty Melancon Doucet of Catahoula; siblings Harrison “Sonny” Doucet Jr. and his wife Christina, Brian Doucet, Myra Doucet, Tammy Doiron and her husband Tony, and Harriet Doucet, all of Catahoula; nephews, Brody (Nicole) Doucet and Ty Laviolette; nieces, Laci Doiron (Karl Leblanc) and Britney Laviolette (Chad Breaux); great nephew, Mica’ Laviolette; and great niece, Amelia Doucet. Charlotte also leaves lasting footprints on hearts of numerous family and friends.
Charlotte now reunites in her heavenly home with her father Harrison (Papa Rose) Doucet Sr.
