Cecile Champagne LeBlanc was an extraordinary “ordinary” woman. She could not sing, paint, bake, or play an instrument. She hated to cook. Her talent was living. She lived life simply, lovingly, happily, faithfully, and courageously. Her sense of humor was delightful, witty, and spontaneous. When she smiled her eyes sparkled and her laughter filled the room. Her love for and devotion to her family and friends was true, non-judgmental, unconditional, and from the heart. Her patience and kindness was immense, unmatched, and never-ending. Her faith was strong, sure, and pure. She did not tell us how to live a wonderful life, she showed us.
Cecile was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a member of St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sherry A. LeBlanc of Lafayette, Gayle Hanks and husband Ronald of Houston, and Susan Randazzo and husband Karl of St. Martinville; daughter-in-law, Karleen Berard; seven grandchildren, Nicole Gautreaux, Jennifer LaGrange, Stephanie Broussard, Frannie Durand, Jake Randazzo, Opal Reon and Jonathan Hanks; two extended grandchildren, Laura Huval and Maegan Berard; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer J. LeBlanc Jr.; her father, Bruno D. Champagne; her mother, Magda Cormier Champagne; sons, Gary and Glenn LeBlanc; an infant daughter, Gayle LeBlanc; and sister, Jeannette C. Angelle.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Angelle, Jake Randazzo, Jonathan Hanks, Karl Randazzo, Larry Guilbeau and Jim Angelle.
