Calvin John Talley

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Calvin John Talley, 78, who passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015, at his residence.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, and continued on Friday at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Fr. David Broussard officiated at the Funeral service. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.
Calvin worked as a barber for 53 years at Ike’s Barber Shop in Lafayette. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Calvin was a great dancer and loved to Cajun dance at Mulate’s. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Paula Talley Thibodeaux and her husband Perry of Cypress, Texas; his son, Michael Talley and his wife Claudette of Scott; two grandchildren, Blake Thibodeaux and Kate Thibodeaux of Cypress, Texas; his companion, Peggy Angelle of Breaux Bridge; his sister, Judy Blanchard and her husband James of Catahoula; and his brother, Alvin Talley and his wife Jacqueline of Carencro.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bernard Talley; his parents, Cleveland and Estelle Latiolais Talley; his brother, Mervin Talley; and his sister, Rosey Talley Vicknair.
Pallbearers were Michael Talley, Blake Thibodeaux, Alvin Talley, Perry Thibodeaux, Doug Guidry and Jim Devillier.
Calvin’s family would like to extend special thanks to Debra Cormier and Dr. Gene Brierre and staff, for the care and attention given to him during his time of need.
