Brenda Romero Bourque
Breaux Bridge – Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Brenda Romero Bourque, 67, who passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at St. Martin Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continued on Monday at 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Pastor Gabe Smith from Our Savior’s Church spoke at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. A rosary was prayed by Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the funeral service. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
She loved to read her Bible and share with her friends. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. Brenda’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers at St. Agnes Nursing Home, St. Martinville Living and Rehab, and St. Martin Hospital for their kindness to our family through our difficult time.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffery Joseph Bourque; daughters, Kimberly Bourque Smith and husband Edward Neil Smith, and Kelly Bourque Breaux and husband Ryan Antoine Breaux; her grandchildren, Konnor Smith, Kaylen Smith and Estelle Breaux; brother, Kenneth Romero; sisters, Bridget Romero Labatut, Linda Romero Bernard, Barbara Romero Broussard and Belver Romero Lopez; sisters-in-law, Maudry Romero, Barbara Romero and Leeann Romero; and brothers-in-law, Russell Labatut, Carrol Lopez, Robert Tujague and A.B. Bernard.
She was preceded in death by parents, Arvelien Joseph Romero and Eula Hulin Romero; two grandchildren, Emma Grace Breaux and Talon Antoine Breaux; her brothers, Carroll Romero, Curtis Romero, Ronald Romero and Allen Romero; her sisters, Nellie Romero Tujague and Earline Romero Comeaux; and brothers-in-law, Ray Broussard and Walter Comeaux Jr.
Pallbearers were Jeffery Joseph Bourque, Konnor Smith, Kenneth Romero, Ryan Breaux, Edward Smith and Ricky Bourque.
Honorary pallbearers were Kaylen Smith and Estelle Breaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
