Anthony ‘Spy’ Gerard Jr.

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Anthony “Spy” Gerard Jr., 67, who passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 am until time of service on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. on Friday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. There will be no repast following the funeral service.
“Spy” was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed welding, going to the casino, and dancing. He loved being with his family and friends and liked to tell jokes ... he was funny and was known to be the “Life of the party.”
He is survived by his mother, Goldie Mallery of St. Martinville; his son, Damien Anthony Gerard Sr. and wife Tammi of Atlanta, Ga.; his brother, Hilton Mallery of St. Martinville; sisters, Carolyn Bourda and husband George of New Orleans, Mary Alma Auguillard and husband Joseph of St. Martinville, and Lucille Gordon of St. Martinville; his grandchildren, Damien Anthony Gerard Jr., J’Kaire Gerard, Aizha Thompson and Hailie Gerard; his godchild, Brandon Travis Gordon; and a host of aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by father, Anthony Gerard Sr.; his sister, Madeline Auguillard; and a niece, Kennedy Gordon.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Gordon, Hilton Mallery, David Mallery, Raymond Mallery, Nathaniel Mallery and Joseph Skipper.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph P. Auguillard, Dylan Auguillard, Jaylen Eugene, and Damien Gerard Jr.
