Ann M. Douet

Parks – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Ann M. Douet, 94, who passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center.
Visiting hours were observed from 1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday at 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday by Sister Ameline Theriot.
Rev. Donovan Labbe officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Paige and Jill Douet, and Tiffany Richard. Gift bearers were Dena Hebert, Laci Patin, Sharon Bienvenu, Dusty Bourque and Kellie Champagne.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mrs. Douet loved sewing, being in her garden amidst her beautiful flowers, and she also enjoyed playing Pokeno. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the rosary group of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Most importantly, she loved to be with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Melvin Douet and wife Frances, and Donald Douet and wife Becky; her daughter, Janelle Babineaux and husband Dean; sisters-in-law, Ruby Menard, Belle Menard and Elise Dugas; her grandchildren, Sharon and husband Jimmy, Dena and husband Jason, Paige, Dusty and husband Nick, Timmy and wife Tara, Laci and husband Colby, Kellie and husband Jed, Jill and Tiffany; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Douet; her parents, Lucien Joseph Menard Sr. and Lelia Hulin Menard; a daughter, Ann Douet Richard; her brothers, Norille Menard, L.J. Menard and Percy Menard; her sisters, Leoine Delahoussaye, Loreana Boutte and Loretta Champagne; a grandchild, Chase Babineaux; and a great-grandchild, Sidney Patin.
Pallbearers were Jed Champagne, Hayden Berard, Jimmy Bienvenu, Jason Hebert, Colby Patin and Nick Bourque.
Honorary pallbearers were Cole Bourque, Caleb Bourque and Timmy Berard.
Mrs. Douet’s family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Ben Degatur and the staff of St. Agnes Nursing Home, for the care and attention given to her during her time of need.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville, was in charge of arrangements.
