Ann ‘Maud’ Courville

Arnaudville – Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for Ann Maud Courville, 78, the former Ann Olivier, who passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at J. Michael Morrrow in Arnaudville.
Interment was in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Fr. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, officiated at the services.
Mrs. Courville was a native and lifelong resident of Arnaudville. She retired with the St. Landry Parish School board after 33 years of service. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church where she was president of the Alter Society, Trustee and Sacristan. She was also a past board member of Arnaudville Chamber of Commerce, past member and Queen of the Crew of LA Junction.
Mrs. Courville’s hobbies included dancing wherever Geno Delafose was playing. She was always cooking and working in the church. She was very humble and a simple soul.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Arcade Courville Jr.; two sons, Randy Courville and his wife Cindy of Arnaudville, and Steven Courville and his wife Judy of Breaux Bridge; one daughter, Kathy Olivier and her husband Mike of Arnaudville; ten grandchildren, Ryan Courville, Chris Courville, Andrea Courville, Katie Courville, Brandon Guidry, Adam Guidry; Nickholas Olivier, Kristin Bullard, Amanda Herpin and Caleb Olivier; ten great-grandchildren, Nola Courville, Jackson Courville, Jolie Olivier, Justin Olivier, Jillian Herpin, Aubrey Olivier, Annalise Bullard, Lily Bullard, Remington Herpin and Levi Bullard; one brother, Remi Olivier and his wife Lou of Arnaudville; and one sister-in-law, Lucille Olivier of Arnaudville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Bertha Meche and Lucien Olivier; one daughter, Louise Courville; one sister, Georgie Olivier Savoy; one brother, Alton Olivier; brother-in-law, Gussie Savoy; father-in-law, Arcade Courville Sr.; mother-in-law, Odile Bertinot Courville; sister-in-law, Odilia Courville Landry; and brothers-in-law, Emery Courville and Percy Courville.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Visiting hours were observed from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and continued from 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Pallbearers were Ryan Courville, Chris Courville, Brandon Guidry, Adam Guidry, Nickholas Olivier and Caleb Olivier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name to St. Francis Regis Catholic Church or the Carmelite Monastery nuns.
