Alvon Laviolette

Catahoula – Alvon Laviolette, 84, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Catahoula, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, oilfield talks, making others laugh with his jokes and most importantly being surrounded by his family with a pot on the stove and music in the background.
Survivors include his precious wife of 64 years, Verna Landry Laviolette; his daughters, Cynthia (Allen Sr) Blanchard, Cheryl (Claybert Sr) Latiolais; his sons, Carroll (Tina) Laviolette, Alvon Jr (Lori) Laviolette; his brothers JB (Brenda) Laviolette, Aldon (Belvon)Laviolette, Oswald (Donna)Laviolette; his grandkids, Nikki (Mike)Morvant, Carroll Laviolette, Tammy Laviolette(Kody Landry), Chastity Latiolais (Shannon Graffagnino), Cristin (Pee-Wee)Morvant, Chantelle Latiolais(TJ Richard), Claybert Jr (Danielle)Latiolais, Joan Blanchard(Donney Leblanc), Allen Jr (Crystal)Blanchard, Latisha (Orie)Granger, Bevon Senette, Alexi Laviolette, Josh (Michelle)Patin, Jeremy Patin, Crystal (Danny)David, Heather (John)Richard, Chelsy (Chad)Champagne, Cody Theriot(Christy Beck); 43 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Proceeded in death by his parents, Jean Batiste (JB) and Yola Courville Laviolette; his son, Kenneth Laviolette; his daughter, Gloria Laviolette; his grandson, Terry Theriot; his sister, Elaine Bernis; and his brothers, Carroll, Maxwell, William and Wilton Laviolette.
The Laviolette family acknowledges with sincere appreciation, UHC, Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice staff (Hollie, Leah, Jillian, Stephanie, Holly, Jennifer & Nicole), the wonderful Barras neighbors, and also the comforting calls, visits and other expressions of kindness during this time of bereavement.
