Mary Daigle LeBlanc

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Mary Daigle LeBlanc, 92, who passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at River Oaks Retirement Manor.
A rosary was recited on Monday.
Rev. Paul LaFleur officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Jamie Castille and Autie LeBlanc. Gift Bearers were Marc and Lindsey Dupuy. Entombment followed at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. LeBlanc was a devout Catholic whose faith in God was strong and unwavering throughout her life. As a young woman she answered a calling to become a nun, joining the order of the Sisters of the Most Holy Sacrament and was known as Sister Leonida. She served with the order for 13 years.
Mary worked as the Head Dietician at Our Lady of Lourdes for several years. She was an adorer in the St. Bernard Chapel of Perpetual Adoration for 25 years and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Mary was meticulous about maintaining her yard. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed being the caretaker for her grandchildren, whom she adored.
She is survived by four sons, Albert “Buz” LeBlanc and wife, Angelic, of Lafayette, Patrick LeBlanc and wife, Monnie, of Alpine, CA, Rex LeBlanc and wife, Arlene, of Lafayette, and Brent LeBlanc of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Janice Castille and husband, David, and Corrine Dupuy and husband, Eddie, all of Breaux Bridge; six sisters, Reva Boutwell of Forest, MS, Margaret Bacon, Cecilia Gesser, Theresa Trosclair of Lafayette, Katherine Steen of Iota, and Louise Bernadette Talbot of Lafayette; her brother, John Daigle of Lafayette; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Ralph LeBlanc; her parents, Gilbert and Louise Richard Daigle; three brothers, James “Jimmy” Daigle, Frank Daigle, Joseph Daigle.
Pallbearers were Albert “Buz” LeBlanc, Patrick LeBlanc, Rex LeBlanc, Brent LeBlanc, David Castille, and Eddie Dupuy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in her name, to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
